“The Flagrant Encounter” was initially intended to be shot in Yerevan, Armenia. However, en route to Yerevan, Armenian airspace closed to Turkey due to the Azerbaijan conflict. I had to reroute to Tbilisi, questioning identity and home.

“The Flagrant Encounter” is shaped by these coincidences. As “The Flagrant” roams Tbilisi, they seek identity and belonging, met by an uncomfortable gaze. Language barriers heightened this alienation, as their faceless form left others unsure The series unfolds as a visual narrative of navigating unfamiliar spaces, in search of a place to call home.
